THE TITLE OF LIBERTY

And the Lord called his people ZION, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Zion, January 26, 2012

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

(Old Testament | Amos 3:3)

Brother Baldwin and friends, Peace and Greetings be unto you from a servant in the hands of Christ.

Mr. Baldwin, I just red your article about Newt Gingrich today which says:

“Last weekend, Republican voters in South Carolina picked the candidate they want to be the GOP standard bearer for the November elections: Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich? Really? What did I miss? Or better, what did Republican voters in South Carolina miss?
What is not lost to virtually everyone who understands national politics is the fact that there is perhaps no State in the union where evangelical Christians have more influence within the State Republican Party than in South Carolina. For example, Greenville, South Carolina, is home to what could be regarded as the flagship university of evangelicalism, Bob Jones University. There are probably more evangelical churches, Christian schools, mission organizations, etc., per square mile in South Carolina than any State in the country. And the vast majority of them are politically active in GOP politics. So, when a GOP Presidential candidate wins South Carolina, you can be absolutely certain that he or she did so with the support and blessing from a sizeable number of evangelical Christians (and pastors) in the State….”

As you may already know, I am a member f the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints; and I am not here trying to proselytize any of you into my faith unless you asked and wanted to know more about it. I just felt the need or urge to communicate with you today. It is about my unfeigned feelings or views that appear to harmonize with yours almost entirely as if we both were walking together or guided by the spirit of God.

As you, I have been for quite some time thinking and reasoning about the State of affairs in this country of ours and the world.  According to your article, I am here to confirm your faith and that you missed nothing. It was the Evangelical machine of South Carolina that lost perspective of the truth. Or at the very least the republican voters of that state are either willfully rebellious or they have lost vigilance as they did a century and a half ago by willfully choosing Rebellion.

I also wanted to let you know that I recognize and acknowledge and thank your intellectual efforts. It is because I sense that you are a voice of warning or a man that is able to exercise your mental faculties in the spirit of the light of Christ with the anxiety or intent to awaken this people to their awful situation and also to alert this wicked and perverse generation of impending dangers if it is that they continue to choose iniquity. I also believe without the least adulation, and I am not alone, that you have a gift of the spirit because you write with moral courage and moral intellect or with an intelligent voice rarely found in most of the ministers of religion in these latter days.  I continue to pray that you continue to enlighten this people with your God given knowledge and that you have the deserved success communicating your errands and are able to open a few eyes in our community. Hopefully a sinner will repent and come unto Christ in the process too.

Other than this, Mr. Baldwin, I also write to you to tell you or merely to add my testimony as a witness of Christ to yours and to tell you that you are not alone in your views concerning the political affairs of this nation.  It is awkward that many have and do still deny the power of God and or his spiritual gifts and claim that God does not communicate with men in their own understanding anymore as he did in ancient times. For this reason the spirit of God has withdrawn from this people and it has little to no place in their hearts. And instead, God has sent them a lying power that they are condemned which did not believe the truth as the scriptures clearly make manifest with regards to the man of sin.

I do not know about you, but to me, it is like the people of South Carolina are choosing as if they were bought with a price, the wrong king or gin to lead this nation. Or as we would say it in scriptural terms or hypothetically speaking, time and again, the majority of people everywhere are choosing Barabbas instead of Jesus Christ, which we know is the true son of the father. And in this perilous state they are ripening for destruction.

In sum, Mr. Baldwin, it was very difficult or troublesome for me also to digest the results of the primary elections of last week in South Carolina. As a watcher in my lonely tower, I am truly concerned about the welfare of this nation as you are. And as you, I do not like the prospects or what I feel about what may shortly come to pass. Is it because we are walking together with God as the men of God or his servants have long ago and still do say?

Nonetheless, a few days later after I wrote my initial feelings which I complete today, I discovered by searching the Holy Scriptures somewhat more about the truth of what may shortly come to pass. I came to a sense in order to accept the truth whatever if it and provide for it, if it is the will of God. And as a result, I wrote with reserve my views about the will of this people to choose iniquity rather than what is right; or, at the very least, how they so far failed to chose the lesser of two evils. That as it was in ancient days with Babylon so it is in these latter days with mystery Babylon as written and which says:

“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”

(Old Testament | Daniel 4:17)
Zion, January 22, 2012

O, Dear, I truly hope that this is not the second rebellion of South Carolina. The last time I checked, it ended in the great civil war.  And much less, I hope that S.C. does not become the Seat of Satan or that the voice of the dirty south is not condoned by the rest of the United States. For this is a time when the nation has one of those rare chances to chose the right instead of iniquity or the lesser of two evils.  We have had for two consecutive elections candidates who are and were richer than the KingRich in moral values and who may better represent America as we knew it. As a matter of fact, Grand Pa Romney or even Grand Pa Ron Paul do have a lot to lose for generations if they do not amount to their expectation if elected president. But by choosing Gingrich as we see the people doing, just because they do not like Romney or Ron Paul, we all lose.  Here is the law and the testimony.

“Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people. And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land.”

Revelation and prophecy on war, given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, December 25, 1832.  HC 1:301–302.  This section was received at a time when the brethren were reflecting and reasoning upon African slavery on the American continent and the slavery of the children of men throughout the world.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 87:Heading)

VERILY, thus saith the Lord concerning the wars that will shortly come to pass, beginning at the rebellion of South Carolina, which will eventually terminate in the death and misery of many souls; And the time will come that war will be poured out upon all nations, beginning at this place.

For behold, the Southern States shall be divided against the Northern States, and the Southern States will call on other nations, even the nation of Great Britain, as it is called, and they shall also call upon other nations, in order to defend themselves against other nations; and then war shall be poured out upon all nations. And it shall come to pass, after many days, slaves shall rise up against their masters, who shall be marshaled and disciplined for war.

And it shall come to pass also that the remnants who are left of the land will marshal themselves, and shall become exceedingly angry, and shall vex the Gentiles with a sore vexation.

And thus, with the sword and by bloodshed the inhabitants of the earth shall mourn; and with famine, and plague, and earthquake, and the thunder of heaven, and the fierce and vivid lightning also, shall the inhabitants of the earth be made to feel the wrath, and indignation, and chastening hand of an Almighty God, until the consumption decreed hath made a full end of all nations; That the cry of the saints, and of the blood of the saints, shall cease to come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, from the earth, to be avenged of their enemies.

Wherefore, stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord.  Amen.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 87:1 - 8)

For surely, nothing will do the LORD without revealing his secrets to his servants the prophets.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey?  will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing? Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him?  shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all? Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid?  shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not known it? Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear?  the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

(Old Testament | Amos 3:3 - 8)

These things I write not of myself but as the LORD has spoken he shall also fulfill and I say these things with a single eye for the honor and Glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Attentively, yours an unworthy servant in the hands of Christ

  1. And now if ye have judges, and they do not judge you according to the law which has been given, ye can cause that they may be judged of a higher judge. If your higher judges do not judge righteous judgments, ye shall cause that a small number of your lower judges should be gathered together, and they shall judge your higher judges, according to the voice of the people. And I command you to do these things in the fear of the Lord; and I command you to do these things, and that ye have no king; that if these people commit sins and iniquities they shall be answered upon their own heads. For behold I say unto you, the sins of many people have been caused by the iniquities of their kings; therefore their iniquities are answered upon the heads of their kings. And now I desire that this inequality should be no more in this land, especially among this my people; but I desire that this land be a land of liberty, and every man may enjoy his rights and privileges alike, so long as the Lord sees fit that we may live and inherit the land, yea, even as long as any of our posterity remains upon the face of the land.

And many more things did king Mosiah write unto them, unfolding unto them all the trials and troubles of a righteous king, yea, all the travails of soul for their people, and also all the murmurings of the people to their king; and he explained it all unto them. And he told them that these things ought not to be; but that the burden should come upon all the people, that every man might bear his part. And he also unfolded unto them all the disadvantages they labored under, by having an unrighteous king to rule over them; Yea, all his iniquities and abominations, and all the wars, and contentions, and bloodshed, and the stealing, and the plundering, and the committing of whoredoms, and all manner of iniquities which cannot be enumerated—telling them that these things ought not to be, that they were expressly repugnant to the commandments of God. And now it came to pass, after king Mosiah had sent these things forth among the people they were convinced of the truth of his words.

  2. BEHOLD, now it came to pass in the sixty and ninth year of the reign of the judges over the people of the Nephites, that Nephi, the son of Helaman, returned to the land of Zarahemla from the land northward. For he had been forth among the people who were in the land northward and did preach the word of God unto them, and did prophesy many things unto them; And they did reject all his words, insomuch that he could not stay among them, but returned again unto the land of his nativity.

And seeing the people in a state of such awful wickedness, and those Gadianton robbers filling the judgment–seats—having usurped the power and authority of the land; laying aside the commandments of God, and not in the least aright before him; doing no justice unto the children of men; Condemning the righteous because of their righteousness; letting the guilty and the wicked go unpunished because of their money; and moreover to be held in office at the head of government, to rule and do according to their wills, that they might get gain and glory of the world, and, moreover, that they might the more easily commit adultery, and steal, and kill, and do according to their own wills—

Now this great iniquity had come upon the Nephites, in the space of not many years; and when Nephi saw it, his heart was swollen with sorrow within his breast; and he did exclaim in the agony of his soul: Oh, that I could have had my days in the days when my father Nephi first came out of the land of Jerusalem, that I could have joyed with him in the promised land; then were his people easy to be entreated, firm to keep the commandments of God, and slow to be led to do iniquity; and they were quick to hearken unto the words of the Lord— Yea, if my days could have been in those days, then would my soul have had joy in the righteousness of my brethren. But behold, I am consigned that these are my days, and that my soul shall be filled with sorrow because of this the wickedness of my brethren.
